Insync Mysterious behaviour with Tilde '~'

While re-organising my home data directory, which is sync'ed with my personal Google Drive using the fabulous Insyc software, it didn't seem to be doing anything. I'm on CentOS Linux, which means I have to run a headless 'portable-insync' version. It works pretty well despite that, and I found this handy refresher of what the commands do.

./insync-portable get_status

revealed no issues.  Did a few

 ./insync-portable quit

 ./insync-portable start

but files were not moving. Then I checked out the online Google Drive and found that my new directory - which I'd cheekily named '~' to put it at the top of my directory tree - wasn't showing at all.

Hmmm, I wonder - renamed '~' to '@@' and whoosh! All the files in that directory started sync-ing.

$ ./insync-portable get_sync_progress
OpenJUMP-Installer-1.8.0-r4164-PLUS.jar (51% of 42.2 MB)
39 files queued

Better be careful with my directory naming in future ;-)
